Wash the rosemary and discard the sticks. Spread the leaves in a plate and take to the microwave.
For about 1/4 cup of rosemary it should take arround 2-3 minutes total, but check it every 20-30 seconds, moving the leafs arround. If the leaves can still be bent like in the picture, give it a bit more time...
... Until they break up easily like that and feel very "crunchy".
In a little while you'll have fresh rosemary powder ready to use and also your fingers will be slightly green and smell very "rosemary-y"!
Smells divine! Where would you use it? What about me? Where am I going to use it?...

Oh that looks wonderful! I have a huge rosemary bush out in my back yard but am wondering if it will survive this extraordinarily cold winter. My bay tree died :( so I'm thinking the rosemary bush might have had it too. I'm looking forward to seeing some cookies with rosemary powder from you!
What a brilliant idea! Love rosemary, and this solves the prickly sticks problem - thanks!
Rosemary is a herb that I would like to get to know better. Nice tip with the strainer.
I make my own powdered ginger by drying it in the oven then powdering it in the spice grinder, and the same with herbs, but I never thought to use the microwave..great idea!
Oh fabulous!
This is a great idea! I like the flavor of rosemary but I hate it when the herbs aren't chopped finely enough and you feel like you're eating pine needles!

This so great! I didn't know you can make your own rosemary powder.
Y ahora ya me has picado... ¿En qué lo podemos utilizar?
Great tip ! I would use it in a bolognese wipe or with a lamb.
Cheers,
Miette

You're going to make a mighty, oil-dripping FOCACCIA!
Awesome! Thank you for the tutorial! I have lovely rosemary bushes growing outside of my complex, but I love using dried rosemary or powder for a different taste.
Oooh lovely. Rosemary is my favorite herb.
I have two big rosemary bushes out back and am always looking for ways to use the herb. I love including it in dessert, but have never hear of making a powder. HOW COOL! You are such a smart cookie!
This worked perfectly! Thanks for posting!
